Camilla Ghazala

Time and Date:  7.00pm-9.00pm • 19 October 2017

Venue:  Holiday Inn, London Road, Ipswich IP2 0UA

Working with Dreams using Gestalt Psychotherapy.

The aim and ethos of Gestalt Psychotherapy is developing self-awareness, the focus is not thinking or acting differently as this development grows organically out of self-awareness.  If we wish to develop we need to understand and respect the private logic and patterns that encourage and discourage our wellbeing and the human needs that are being met through our patterns.  When we have reached a place of respect and acceptance towards ourselves can core development take place.

Our dreams contain a mass of information that are nuggets of knowledge, skills, attributes, feeling and creativity that may be overlooked as they are wrapped in code and create a foundation for organic development.

This talk will visit some key Gestalt concepts and work experientially using Helen McLean’s model of the dream process.

Please, could you bring a written note of one of your dreams (even a tiny snippet can be worked with).  If you don’t have a dream accessible, please bring a written paragraph explaining your favourite scene in a movie/tv show.  Gestalt process always begins with working with our own material before we use these processes with a client, so please do not bring material that belongs to a client or another third party.  Due to time, not all participants will experience both elements (working with their dream and coaching another through the process).

Fee: Students £15 • SAC members £20 • Non-members £25

Two hours CPD certificates will be provided

Please note that payment is due before the start of CPD. We regret that we are not able to accept the payment during the event. If no payment has been made, the attendee will not be permitted admission to the event.
